About DayPanel

DayPanel is a Chrome extension that utilizes the Google Calendar API and Toast UI Calendar to display Google Calendar events in the Chrome side panel. This tool helps users to easily view and manage their calendar events without switching tabs.

DayPanel is a free application which was created to offer a useful productivity tool which I am using myself daily. I am planning to add further features, such like google tasks and google keep support as well as connecting the application to other calendar APIs. Instead of focusing on monetization, my motivation is to improve this project further and showcase it in my portfolio as an example of my skills and dedication. Single Purpose

The single purpose of DayPanel is to provide a convenient way to display and manage Google Calendar events directly within the Chrome side panel. This purpose is narrow and easy to understand, focusing solely on enhancing calendar management efficiency.

Permission Justification

DayPanel requires the following permissions to function properly:

sidePanel: This permission is necessary to open and display the extension in the Chrome side panel.
identity: This permission is needed to use Google Chrome's identity for authenticating with the Google Calendar API, enabling the extension to fetch and sync calendar events.
storage: This permission is required to save user preferences regarding the displayed calendar selection.

Only these essential permissions are requested to fulfill the single purpose of the extension. Requesting unnecessary permissions would lead to rejection of the extension.

Privacy Policy

DayPanel does not collect any user data. There is no backend server involved; all data is directly exchanged between the user's personal computer and the Google Calendar API. No data is collected or used externally.

By using the DayPanel extension, you agree to the following terms:

DayPanel is provided "as is" without any warranties of any kind.
The extension is designed to enhance the user experience with Google Calendar, but the user assumes all responsibility for its use.
The developer is not liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use or inability to use the extension.
DayPanel uses Google OAuth to access the Google Calendar API. Users must comply with Google’s terms of service and privacy policy when using their Google account with the extension.
